Baku Youth Center
A civic youth hub organised around an inner courtyard, pairing warm red-brick and pale cast-stone volumes linked by a glazed atrium, with an activated roof terrace of circular skylights, planters and a water feature.
Baku Youth Center pairs two material families — red brick and cream cast stone — across a quartet of four-storey volumes that frame a calm interior courtyard. Canted, tapering end walls clad in brick and stone signal the entrance and bookend the long street facades, while a brick arcade of round arches animates the courtyard and a timber pergola shades the perimeter walkways. A glazed steel atrium stitches the two material worlds together and pulls daylight deep into the plan. The roof becomes an extension of the public realm: circular skylights, planted islands with mature trees, benches and a reflecting pool turn the fifth facade into an outdoor room for the city's young people.
